Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mow) at Le Thai, Downtown
Best Thai Food Downtown Las Vegas. This is absolutely YUMMY!
It’s Downtown at 523 Fremont Street and it’s called “Le Thai”.
What I’m recommending here is the Pad Kee Mow, AKA (also known as) Drunken Noodles, and it’s incredible comforting hangover food!
Right… what you should have here, AND it’s not expensive. IF you go for lunch you can get the lunch special, where you’d choose from almost any curry there, and you add your meat preference, or Tofu or Shrimp, for ONLY $9.95, and they give you a soft drink (Coke, Iced Tea, Lemonade etc) with it. This is a really nice deal and it’ll be delicious. I’d like to recommend another dish too, a little more expensive, but still very good value. I had the “Drunken Noodles”. Mother of God almighty, you’d actually sell your mother for these, but don’t, that’s not going to work out well for anyone, and I think that it’s illegal anyway, so no selling mothers, even mother-in-laws, the same law applies. Back to the food, Pad Kee Mow is the real name for these. Look, I’m not going to go into big detail, as it’s been a little while and I can’t remember it exactly but I do remember that it was just delicious and I want it again! I’m just telling you, go for this, if you don’t, you don’t.
This is what it is as per their menu.
In fact you could probably go for anything on the menu (many friends kept telling me about this gem of a place but I had to visit it myself as per my reservations above. The doubts about Thai food in America have been significantly diminished, and I’m going back for more of it as soon as time allows. Another day (I really like the food here!) I had the Tom Kha soup with Shrimp ($12 I think)… it was HUGE! The Tom Kha is a coconut soup with chicken, mushroom, lemon grass, lemon juice and with green onion and cilantro (in Europe we call this Coriander, also known as Chinese Parsley). Again, holy mother of God… if you have a few bob, get both the soup and the dinner if there are two of you and you can share them. This is some of THE BEST hangover type food you could eat, plus the spicey food helps you burn calories quicker, and you’ll need to do this with all your partying in Las Vegas.
Oh yeah, of course (!), I haven’t forgotten, there is another very good Thai restaurant, it’s called Lotus of Siam. It’s off the Strip and is a locals favourite also. I was lucky enough to eat here also, and another day, I’ll tell you about it. I’m going to need another visit to Lotus though as it was a while ago. You’ll need to get an Uber or a Lyft to it. Definitely worth a visit though if you’re cool with going “off-strip”. In related news…Lotus of Siam have opened at a second location, so clearly, business is good!
You won’t go wrong with either of these restaurants. Definitely not.
